A handcrafted masterpiece by Paradise Mountain Log Homes has the experience of more than 1,500 handcrafted homes behind us since 1978. We are dedicated to building the finest log buildings possible, as well as leading the way in design and construction improvements.
Our handcrafted log & timber homes are built primarily with Englemann Spruce, Douglas Fir, Lodgepole Pine & Western Red Cedar Logs. The logs we build with are an average of 12 – 16 inches mean diameter and up to 20 inches mean diameter, and the tight-grained timber is between 80 to 400 years old. The timber is selectively harvested from designated forestry areas, which is then replanted with 5 saplings for every tree harvested. Thus, renewing and sustaining the forest. The harvesting is done in the winter when the sap is down. The logs are then air-dried through the year for a low moisture content of 19% or less prior to selecting for the building process.
As a further measure of quality, over 95% of our timber meets the highest premium/select grade standard of the Timber Products Inspection Agency.
